Built in the North. Grounded in experience.

Snow-covered New England forest trail representing Borealis Traders field experience and outdoor judgment.

I founded Borealis Traders of New England to bring practical judgment to work that matters—to the people who live here, the organizations that depend on their systems, and the next generation learning to understand the outdoors.

I’m an Army infantry combat veteran, technical advisor, educator, and working trapper. My work has taken me across five continents. Those experiences shape how I approach a problem: look closely, understand the conditions, and take responsibility for the work.

Different work. Shared principles.

Wildlife Control means helping homeowners, businesses, property managers, and towns address animal damage and conflicts. A garden, an attic, a road, and a waterway present different problems. Understanding the animal and the setting comes before deciding what to do.

Outdoor Education helps rebuild a connection that has weakened over generations. Many young people—and adults—have had little opportunity to learn the basic outdoor skills that were part of everyday life for many families fifty years ago. Recognizing animal signs, finding your way in the woods, and understanding the seasons are skills worth passing on. Through wildlife, tracking, practical outdoor skills, wild food, and seasonal living, I help schools, homeschool groups, families, and community organizations build knowledge, confidence, and respect for the natural world.

Technology consulting brings the same attention to cybersecurity, infrastructure, and the responsible use of AI. Some organizations need stronger security or more dependable systems. Others are deciding where AI can help and what oversight it needs. The starting point is the actual need, the people involved, and the consequences of getting it wrong.

Be ready. Be professional. Never cut corners.

These principles guide the business. Listen before recommending. Explain the choices and constraints. Be candid about what is known and what still needs checking. Treat people, their property, and their information with care.

The essays, field videos, and educational resources on this site are part of that work. They give you a chance to examine my thinking, learn something useful, and decide whether my approach fits what you need.

Thank you for considering Borealis Traders. If you have a wildlife concern, a group ready to learn, or a technical question that deserves a careful answer, I welcome the conversation.
